The Sleep-Heart Connection
Here's some serious and important news about sleep and heart health: there's yet more evidence of a link between sleeplessness and heart disease. The results of a large-scale study show that people who suffer from insomnia are at higher risk for heart attacks. The study, which was conducted by scientists at the Norwegian Institute of Science and Technology, included 52,610 men and women, who began by answering a survey that included questions about their sleep. Burzynski, the Movie
Burzynski, the Movie is the story of a medical doctor and Ph.D biochemist named Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski who won the largest, and possibly the most convoluted and intriguing legal battle against the Food & Drug Administration in American history. His victorious battles with the United States government were centered around Dr. Burzynski's gene-targeted cancer medicines he discovered in the 1970's called Antineoplastons, which have currently completed Phase II FDA-supervised clinical trials in 2009. When Antineoplastons are approved, it will mark the first time in history a single scientist, not a pharmaceutical company, will hold the exclusive patent and distribution rights on a paradigm-shifting medical breakthrough. Antineoplastons are responsible for curing some of the most incurable forms of terminal cancer.

Continuing our Wellness Journey - Feeling
This week our journey focuses on Feeling, the 6th of 12 keys to wellness in the Wellness Inventory. We experience feelings and emotions from well before the event of our birth. They can be intense, or frightening, or wonderful. They can also be the most misunderstood, and consequently mistreated, gifts we have as human beings. We judge them, repress them, discount them, drug them, worship them, and run from them. Yet, what a bore to be without them! Life fully lived is life filled with feeling! View more

"Three Lifesaving Treatments from HONEST MEDICINE and How I Chose Them" - Julia Schopick
This idea is NOT out there so I am asking you to think of a conceptual idea that I believe is coming and explains a lot as to why vegetarian type diets differ from animal diets. I want to understand why Dr Esselstyn is having success with completely reversing heart disease, and why Bill Clinton is going to see Dr. Esselstyn to reverse his coronoary artery disease.

What Will Work for Me? - "Lyme Disease in Iceman and Birds" - John Whitcomb, MD
Did you know the average person wastes approximately 90 glasses of water every day by leaving the tap running while they brush their teeth? That means in the United States alone, we’re literally pouring down the drain as much as 27 billion glasses of clean, drinkable water every day, just brushing our teeth. View more
Integrator Blog - "Healthpoint's Tom Trompeter: Opportunities for Integrative Medicine in a Patient-Centered Medical Home "
Some integrative medicine leaders view the patient centered medical home (PCMH) as an optimal environment for expressing an integrative practice. Obama's Affordable Care Act included specific language that invited operators of PCMHs to include chiropractors, and licensed complementary, alternative and integrative practitioners. An exceptional resource in this area is Tom Trompeter, MHA, the CEO of Healthpoint. The 12 center network, formerly the Community Health Centers of King County, is not only quite advanced in its development of what Trompeter prefers to call a "patient-centered healthcare home." For 15 years, Healthpoint has included diverse natural medicine offerings such as acupuncture, naturopathic medicine, massage therapy and behavioral health care. Trompeter offers his reflections on the nature of the PCMH paradigm and what it asks of both practitioners, and those who would educate them for participation in this emerging model. View more

There's a Yogi in the Kitchen: "The Yogi's Secret Ingredient" - Siri Ved Kaur Khalsa
Regardless of what ingredients are used, if the cook's consciousness is not
prayerful, loving, or joyful ... that food will not be a healing food. Period. It is important to have a state of mind that is free of anger when you are preparing any meal. Instead be filled with heartfelt love for those
(including the self!) who will be eating the food, joy in its preparation, and, most importantly, a sense of the Divine coming into the food. In "The Yogi's Secret Ingredient" Siri-Ved Kaur Khalsa shows why restaurant food
becomes so tiring. It only satisfies the belly; rarely does it elevate, nurture, and heal.

Wholistic Spiritual Healing - "The Body (Part 6): Physical, bodymind, energetic, and potential doorway to spiritual awareness" - Daniel Benoir, MD
It is estimated that only 5% of our brain capacity is within conscious awareness. This means that we have another 95% of brain/consciousness capacity we can tap. In "The Body (Part 6): Physical, bodymind, energetic, and potential doorway to spiritual awareness" Daniel J. Benor, M.D. explains how Applied Kinesiology (AK) provides methods for using the body to facilitate access to the unconscious mind. When you are emotionally upset, as in depression, anxiety or anger, your body becomes weaker. If you think about something that is distressing, your muscles will reflect this. View more
Mind Body Health - "Good Humor, Good Health" - David Sobel, MD
When was the last time you laughed really hard - a hearty, sidesplitting belly laugh that suddenly grabbed you and sent you reeling out of control? Or you laughed so hard that you forgot what triggered it, leaving you laughing without reason? Modern science is beginning to confirm that this kind of laughter is not only enjoyable, it's also health-promoting, reports Dr. David Sobel in "Rx: Good Humor, Good Health." Laughter is an invigorating tonic that heightens and brightens mood, gently releasing us from tensions and social constraints. Dr. Sobel brings us up to date on what the research on humor shows and how we can use humor to stay healthy.
