Series of Studies Confirm Action of Homeopathy on Childhood Diarrhea
Three double-blind clinical trials found that individual homeopathic treatments significantly decrease the duration of acute childhood diarrhea and suggest that homeopathy should be used as an adjunct to the current recommended treatment for diarrhea in children. Acute diarrhea is a leading cause of death in children in the developing world, with more than three million deaths per year worldwide. In the US, diarrheal disease is a common cause of morbidity and exerts a heavy burden on the health care system.

Bastyr University Celebrates 25th Anniversary
April 2003 marks the start of a year-long celebration of Bastyr University's 25th anniversary. Bastyr began in April, 1978, when its four founders shared a dream of creating an outstanding school of naturopathic medicine. With little more than a $200 donation, the four proceeded to build a school that has become a world-renowned multi-disciplinary academic center and a destination for students from all over the globe.

Legislation to Extend Licensure to Naturopathic Physicians Introduced in California
In an effort to expand consumer access to natural medicine, legislation has been introduced in the California legislature to extend licensure to the Golden State's naturopathic physicians. If the bill, S.B. 907, is enacted, California will join 12 other states across the country with licensure laws in place for graduates of accredited naturopathic medical schools.
